Ecosoft
ECOSOFT WBF is a programme for the ecological assessment of built structures and buildings on the basis of the eco-indicator OI3. ECOSOFT WBF is based on the MS Office application EXCEL and was developed by the IBO, the Austrian Institute for Healthy and Ecological Building.

ECOSOFT WBF building materials database
The ECOSOFT WBF building materials database is based on the IBO building materials database and currently comprises more than 500 building materials (guide values) which are constantly updated and extended (at present, ECOSOFT WBF is delivered with the IBO building materials database 2005 which applies to residential construction subsidisation in Salzburg, Vorarlberg and Lower Austria). The building materials are assessed step by step up to the point in time “product ex works”. So all previous processes leading to the ready-for-delivery product are taken into consideration. For every process step, material, transport and energy inputs as well as emissions into air, soil, water and waste are determined. The calculations for the building material assessment are carried out with the programme SimaPro based on CML2 Baseline 2001.
Eco-indicators of ECOSOFT WBF that are calculated
The following ecological indicators are specified:
- Global Warming Potential (GWP)
- Acidification potential (AP)
- Primary Energy Content, renewable and non-renewable (PEI e, PEI ne)
- Production of photooxidants (POCP)
- Eutrophication (EP)
- Eco-index OI3 BGF, TGH, OI3 BGF, lc, OI3 Kon
