Nursing home, renovation

EU GreenBuilding Partner: V. PASSWEG GesmbH / EU GreenBuilding Endorser: Siemens AG

EU GreenBuilding

The house was built in 1967 under Josef Vytiska and only served as a hotel complex (Hotel Bohemia). In the mid-1990s, it was converted into a nursing home and finally taken over by the Riess family in 2004. Since then, up to 93 senior citizens have been looked after here around the clock in 79 single rooms and 7 double rooms. The adjacent theatre is still used as a rehearsal stage and rented to the combined stages.
The renovation will reduce the annual heating requirement (HWB*) by 62 %. Final energy consumption was reduced by 56% and primary energy consumption by 54%.
V. PASSWEG GesmbH was supported by the EU GreenBuilding Endorser Siemens AG .
