The database is aimed at manufacturers and distributors, building owners, municipalities, and developers, as well as planners, consultants, and craftspeople. The first steps are described in the user guide.
Our Partners in Germany
WECOBIS – Ecological Building Materials Information System
The building materials information system WECOBIS, developed as part of the Zukunft Bau research initiative, provides manufacturer-neutral information on health and environmental aspects of building product groups and raw materials—including potential areas of application—and broken down by life cycle phases: raw materials, manufacturing, processing, use, and end-of-life. In addition, planning and tender assistance are offered.
The building material information is provided by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building, and Nuclear Safety in an up-to-date and freely accessible manner via the internet-based ecological specialized information system WECOBIS.
ÖKOBAUDAT – Database for the Life Cycle Assessment of Buildings
With the ÖKOBAUDAT platform, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building, and Nuclear Safety provides a standardized database for the life cycle assessment of buildings. It describes building materials as well as construction and transportation processes in terms of their environmental impacts. ÖKOBAUDAT offers both generic datasets and company- or association-specific datasets derived from environmental product declarations.
The data published in ÖKOBAUDAT is accessible free of charge and can be used for life cycle assessments at the component and building levels.
