Essays by architectural historian David B. Stewart (1942–2025) and architect Shin-ichi Okuyama – who, like Shinohara, taught as professors at the Tokyo Institute of Technology – contextualize the three buildings within his body of work and offer insights into his distinctive approach. A foreword by Ryue Nishizawa, co-founder of the world-renowned architectural firm SAANA, highlights Shinohara’s enduring influence in the present day.
